Although operating for many years as a philanthropic organisation, it was evident that as it grew, a registered charitable trust needed to be formed, and the Southern Stars Charitable Trust was established.
Its aim is to assist special needs and disadvantaged children of New Zealand.
From its premises in Grey Lynn. Auckland, the Trust receives donations from the public and corporates, for distribution to Beneficiary Trusts capable of providing direct assistance to these children.
The second cornerstone activity of the Trust is to produce the feature event programme, 'Kids In Show Seats' (KISS) - an on-going season of live professionally produced pantomimes providing entertainment to special needs and disadvantaged children.

The members of the Southern Stars Charitable Trust bring a variety of experience and expertise to bear on the Trust's efforts to provide a better life for the children.
