Ambassadors

To help raise the awareness of the Southern Stars Charitable Trust's ongoing charity work - we are pleased to introduce our celebrity ambassadors.

Faye Smythe - Actor, Shortland Street

Faye SmytheI'm Faye Smythe and I’m an actor.  At the moment I’m currently working on a production called Shortland Street and I have been for the past 3 years.
I love drama and I love acting, I think it’s a fantastic art.  I’d love to be a part of this organization as I really believe in young people taking part in drama workshops and productions as an extra-curricular activity and at school.  It’s so beneficial for confidence, self-esteem, communication and creativity.  I’ve done drama since a young age and still enjoy it.  I had and still have a lot of support from family, friends and teachers and I would love to be able to share the knowledge and support I have gained through drama and my career so far with all of you guys!

Kiel McNaughton - Actor, Shortland Street

Kiel McNaughtonKia ora! I’m Kiel McNaughton. I am an actor, husband and father to 2 beautiful children. As an actor and being in the public eye I feel it is my duty to bring public attention to worthy causes and organizations and I am honored to be associated with Southern Stars Charitable Trust. As a father I understand the need to provide assistance to disabled and disadvantaged children and their families and Southern Stars’ “Kids In Show Seats” is a fantastic way of bringing entertainment and aroha into their lives.

Nisha Madhan - Actor, Shortland Street

Nisha MadhanHi, I’m Nisha Madhan, and I’ve been a professional actress since 2003. I was lucky enough to take part in the Southern Stars ‘Make a Wish’ programme and was astounded by the generosity of everyone involved. I believe it is so important to do what we can to instil hope in the hearts of not only children in need but their families as well. In my experience of going to theatre shows and acting in them from a young age, I’ve found that theatre and story is one of the most immediate ways to inspire hope in people. I feel honoured and privileged to be associated with Southern Stars.
