Operating for many years as a philanthropic organisation, it was evident that as it grew, a registered charitable trust needed to be formed, and the Southern Stars Charitable Trust was established.

Southern Stars Charitable Trust's aim is to assist special needs and disadvantaged children of New Zealand.

The cornerstone of its activities is its K.I.S.S. programme, a season of Kids in Show Seats live pantomimes raising funds and providing entertainment to special needs and disadvantaged children.
